Major Announcements
The Copper Age Update
The headline reveal was The Copper Age update, coming to Minecraft on September 30. For the first time, copper becomes a full gameplay material. Here're the key new features:
> Copper Tools, Weapons, and Armor
A new equipment tier between stone and iron.
> Copper Golem
Copper Golem functions as an item-sorting companion that gradually oxidizes through different colors over time, eventually becoming a statue.
Different statue poses emit unique redstone signals for contraptions like password locks.
But don't worry, oxidation isn't permanent -- you can restore your Copper Golem's activity by scraping off the oxidation.
> Shelves
Shelves are functional blocks for displaying items, with powered shelves allowing hotbar swapping via redstone.
Beyond storage, players are using them creatively as decorative building elements, adding detail to walls and large constructions.
Mounds of Mayhem Update
The next reveal was the Mounds of Mayhem update, planned for later this year. This update focuses on mounts, combat, and underwater exploration.
> Nautilus
A new rideable underwater mob that can be tamed using pufferfish.
While riding, it grants a water-breathing effect, allowing you to explore and build underwater safely.
Notably, armor can be equipped on your Nautilus, with options like golden and diamond armor.
This adds a new layer of customization and protection while riding.
> Zombie Nautilus
A hostile variant of the Nautilus with a drowned riding it.
It poses a dangerous underwater challenge for players, combining mobility and combat.
> Spear
The Spear can be crafted from copper, iron, gold, diamond and Netherite, and has two attack modes: jab and charge.
Charge attacks deal more damage based on movement speed, enabling advanced PvP strategies.
> Zombie Horse with Spear
Zombies now spawn on horses wielding spears, introducing new survival challenges and dynamic combat encounters.
Dragon Ball-Z DLC
A new Dragon Ball Z DLC is on the way, letting players unleash iconic moves like the Kamehameha and Spirit Bomb.
The pack, set to release later this year, brings the world of Dragon Ball Z into Minecraft with themed content and experiences.
As a bonus, a free Super Saiyan hair item is already available in the Character Creator for download. More details on the DLC will be shared soon, so players can look forward to powering up their adventures.

Editor's Comments
Minecraft Live 2025 hit a nice balance: copper finally feels more meaningful, mounts and combat add fresh depth, and the Dragon Ball Z DLC shows Mojang isn't afraid of playful crossovers.
It's a mix of utility, creativity, and fan service that keeps Minecraft evolving without losing its charm.
Of all the reveals, the Copper Golem grabbed my attention the most. It's not just a charming companion but also a clever redstone tool, and the idea of it slowly turning into a statue feels very "Minecraft."
