Apple is continuing its efforts in mixed reality with plans to release a more affordable Vision headset as early as next year. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, this new device will be priced around 2,000, significantly less than the current 3,500 Vision Pro.
The cost reduction will be achieved through the use of cheaper materials, a less powerful processor, and the exclusion of the EyeSight feature that displays the user's eyes on the outside of the headset.
Upcoming Mixed Reality Devices
Following the launch of the more affordable Vision headset, Apple is planning a second-generation Vision Pro in 2026.
Looking further ahead, the company may introduce smart glasses similar to Meta's Ray-Bans and AirPods with integrated cameras by 2027.
Smart Home Strategy
Apple is also looking to expand its presence in the smart home market. Plans include an "affordable iPad-like screen" that can be placed around the house for streaming TV, making FaceTime calls, and using apps.
This will be followed by a tabletop device equipped with a robot arm, potentially priced at around $1,000.
